Do you hate all the excessive packaging that comes along with grocery shopping like I do? We are bombarded with messages that tell us to recycle. But what about "precycle"? That is the concept behind Unpackaged, a London-based dry-goods shop that asks consumers to bring their own packaging and save not only money, but also the environment. This may be one of my favorite ideas to come out of London.
Unpackaged was founded in 2006 by Catherine Conway in the belief that there is a better way to sell food. Conway wanted to make it easy for our customers to do the right thing – the right thing for themselves and for the environment. Unpackaged started on a market stall and now have a shop at 42 Amwell St, London, EC1R 1XT which you can see in this Reuters video.
